Janet Bernard

Janet came to our school to tell us what Macandrew Bay School was like when she went here. She started school in 1967 so quite a few things had changed. For instance, where the staffroom is now used to be Room 1. There was a school nurse and she gave you a check upon your first day at school. janet and Johhn books were her favourite beginner reader books. They didn't use white board, they used blackboards. She performed in a play every assembly. They didn't have South Zone sports. Room 1 children (S4) had to wash the teachers dishes after play and lunch time.It was a very interesting talk and we got lots of information for our Inquiry questions. by Lili

Amanda

Amanda came to our class to talk about schooling in in 1970's. Helicopters used to be called whirly birds. They used to play hopscotch. The school pool wasn't covered. The game shed used to be the library. The play ground used to be asphalted. The staff room used to be a class room. The children sat in rows in alphabetical order.
